Tiger's Eye, also known as "Tiger Eye," is best known for its chatoyancy, a silky luster that appears as a moving light band across its surface.

Tiger's Eye is created when quartz replaces crocidolite fibers in a process called pseudomorphism, preserving the fibrous structure while transforming the mineral. The golden to brown coloration develops from the oxidation of iron within the quartz.

Tiger's Eye's structure features parallel fibrous layers, giving it its characteristic shimmering effect.

Tiger's Eye is commonly found in South Africa, Namibia, Australia, and India.
