Labradorite forms through the slow cooling of molten rock, allowing feldspar crystals to develop in layers that create its signature play of light. These crystals are then subjected to geological forces that enhance their structural and optical properties.

Labradorite’s structure is composed of tightly interlocked feldspar layers that refract light, causing its unique shimmering effect.

Labradorite is commonly found in Canada, Finland, Madagascar, and parts of the United States.
